Carl L Sego

TSGT Carl L. Sego, United States Air Force, 84, of Metter, Georgia, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at Landmark Hospital in Savannah.

Carl was born on August 31, 1933 to Douglas and Myrtice Sego.  He was raised in Twin City and graduated ECI High School in 1950 (the last class in Georgia to graduate a class through the 11 grade in high school).  Carl spent the next twenty years in the United States Air Force and retired from service in 1970.  After his military service, he spent 19 years in the automobile business, running his own auto dealership in Colorado Springs, Colorado until 2002 when he moved to Metter, Georgia. Carl was an active golfer who owned a charter membership at the Willow Lake Golf Club in Metter.  He was a 32nd Degree Mason and past member of the VFW Post #4501, Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Carl and his wife, Isabel, loved traveling and often went on tours.  In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brothers, Hyman Sego and Rev. Gene Sego, and his sister, Ruth Sego Brown.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Isabel Sego of Metter; a son, Douglas (Sara) Sego of Azusa, California; his daughter, Gail (Ken) Olivo of Livermore, California; two grandsons, Brandon Olivo and Bryan Sego; one granddaughter, Briana Olivo; one step-grandson, Richard S. Hormaza; two great-grandsons, Constatine Sego, and Camden Painter; and one great granddaughter, Rowan Sego.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5 until 7 o’clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

The funeral will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel with Rev. Gregory Ely officiating.

Interment will be in Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ted Sego, Jonathon Ward, Matthew Rocker, Austin Bragg, Dwayne Gay, Ronnie Mills, Danny Mills, and Brandon Olivo.
