Jessie Nell Edenfield, wife of Harmon Edenfield, died Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.

Born in Lyons she was the daughter of Willard Eugene Edwards and Mavis Edwards.  Mrs. Edenfield lived in Metter most of her life before moving to Augusta a year and half year ago.  She was the co-founder of Edenfield’s Restaurant that she owned since 1977 alongside her husband, Harmon Edenfield.  Mrs. Edenfield was recognized in the Atlanta Journal Constitution for having the “best fried chicken in the South”. She loved cooking, sewing, traveling, and playing games.  Mrs. Edenfield was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Edwards and Maxwell Edwards. 

Surviving are her husband, Harmon Edenfield; daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and Raul Arguello and daughter Holly Edenfield; grandson Nicholas Rountree, brothers Buddy Edwards, Jimmy Edwards, Johnny Edwards, and Jackie Edwards; her sisters, Sandra Williams, Mary Edge, Joyce Banks and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday from 5 until 7 o’clock at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel with Rev. Burt Sappenfield officiating.

Interment will be in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be excepting flowers, however, if you wish you may make donations to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Georgia 30459.
