Karen Dillard

Karen Odum Dillard, 68, daughter of Annie Gertrude Odum Donahue and John Archie Odum, died Thursday, August 25, 2016.

Born in Reidsville, Karen lived in the Collins area for many years before moving to Metter and then to Claxton where she lived for the past thirty years.  She was a member of the Claxton First United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for over fifteen years.  Karen was a member of the Bettie Sands Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women.  She worked as a billing clerk for the City of Claxton for many years.  In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister Alana Pritchett, step-father, Alvin Donahue, and her brother-in-law, Jerry Cochran.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Wesley Hendrix of Brooklet; one granddaughter, Madison Hendrix of Brooklet; a forever step-daughter, Dana Parker of St. Simons Island; her sister, Sharon Odum Cochran of Columbiana, Alabama; and three nieces, Kim Hunkapiller, Leslie Covington, and Diane Curtis.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Claxton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Joey Attebery and Cindy O. Gaskins officiating.
