Patti Powell

Patti Christine Powell, 44, of Claxton died Sunday, March 15, 2015, at her sister's home under the loving care of her family. Born with Down Syndrome, Patti's life was unique and wonderful. Travelling with her Dad while he sang with the Hymnsmen was a highlight of her years which gave her a love of gospel music. She enjoyed reading books, playing basketball, little babies and eating out. Patti loved everybody giving lots of hugs whether she knew you or not. Patti was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Hodges Powell, just one year ago.

Survivors are her father, Bernice Powell; sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Jimmy Morris all of Claxton; niece, Laci and her husband, Daniel McEachin and a nephew, Brandon Boyett; and a great nephew, Austin McEachin.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 pm, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Rogers and Elder Lee Price officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, 6-8 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
