James Hugh Williams Obituary

James Hugh Williams, 84, of Cobbtown, died Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Born in Cobbtown, he was a son of Thomas Grover Williams and Willie Coleman Williams.  Mr. Williams was a member of the Cobbtown Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Air Force.  He retired from Associated Doctors Health and Life Insurance Company and loved to fish when he was able.  Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Shelba Jean Brown Williams and two sons, James Lee Williams and Terry “Ta Ta” Williams.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Binky Williams of Martinez; two daughters-in-law, Tonia Williams of Cobbtown and Joy Williams Batton of Lincolnton; a brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Margie Williams of Reidsville; a sister, Joann Reardon of Reidsville; six grandchildren, Clay Williams, Trampus Williams, Amy Masters, Leah Evans, Lindsay Wright, and James Williams; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Trampus Williams, Chris Masters, Rusty Reardon, Clay Williams, Johnny Batton and James Williams.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 6 until 8 o’clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.

Interment will be in Sunlight Cemetery.
