Steve Kersey Obituary

Steve Phillip Kersey, 65, of Metter, and husband of Brenda Chester Kersey, died Friday, January 17, 2020 at Candler Hospital in Savannah.

Born in Hephzibah, Georgia,  he was a son of Harvey Kersey and Annie Martin Kersey.  Steve was a retired Truck Driver, having owned his own company and was of the Baptist faith.  He loved NASCAR and had loved his family dearly.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shelby and Martha and two brothers, Harvey and James.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Chester Kersey of Metter; two daughters, Cheyenne Kersey of Metter and Shelley Guest of Augusta; two sons, Brandon Sikes of Metter and Tony Kersey of Newnan; his brother, Charles Kersey of Ocala, Florida; six grandchildren, Layton, Peyson, Gabby, Daniel, Andrew, and Bradley; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Monday, January 20, 2020 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 1 o’clock until the funeral hour at the funeral home on Monday.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
