Euna Mae Collins Powell Oglesby Obituary

Euna Mae Collins Powell Oglesby, 91, of Cobbtown died early Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation in Metter.

Born in Tattnall County, she was a daughter of Dovie Mae Collins Harrelson and the granddaughter of Ben Collins and Lester Thorpe Collins.  Mrs. Oglesby lived in Tattnall county her entire life and was a member of the Cobbtown United Methodist Church.   In addition to her mother and grandparents, Mrs. Oglesby was preceded in death by her first husband, G.B. Powell, her second husband, Earl Oglesby, two sons, Jerry and George Powell and two sons-in-law, Joey Strickland and Tommy DeLoach.

Surviving are her children, Jerald Powell and his wife, Annie of Cobbtown, Mary Fordham and her husband, Russell of Metter, Jenny DeLoach of Claxton, and Jimmy Powell and his wife, Judy of Cobbtown; a daughter in law, Angie Powell of Cobbtown; grandchildren, Gerald “Nig” Powell, Jr. (Sally), Denise Fordham, Jerry Powell (Lydia), Josh Powell (Olivia) and Justin Powell (Heather); her great-grandchildren, Ben Powell, Logan Powell, Blake Fordham, Lindsay Williams, Sterling Williams, Nelson Powell, Henry Powell, Kristlyn Powell, Keegan Powell, and Jasper Powell; and her great-great-grandchildren, Riley Fordham, Mason Cook and Salem Seays, and a special cousin Aaron Collins.

The graveside service will be held 11 o’clock in the morning on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in Sunlight Cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, of Cobbtown is in charge of the arrangements.
