Joan Thompson Bland, 89, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at her home under Hospice.
Mrs. Bland was a Physical Therapy Assistant for many years before retiring. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Her main passion was spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Bland was predeceased by her parents, Layton and Anna Thompson of Miami, FL, her brother, Layton Thompson, Jr. of Tifton, GA, her sisters, Mary Knox, Betty Pass and Ruth Albury and her husband Tommy Bland, and son, Jimmy Bland.
Surviving are her daughters, Lynn Roberson of Cobbtown, GA and Ramona (Jimmy) Jones of Gainesville, GA, her three grandchildren, Caleb Roberson of Cobbtown, GA, Chad Morgan of Orlando, FL, and Ian (Amber) Morgan of Athens, GA; five great-grandchildren, Colie Morgan, Sienna Morgan, Van Morgan, Teagan Morgan, and Odie Bell Morgan of Athens, GA.
Visitation will be Friday, April 30, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at New Life Baptist Church, Metter, GA.
The funeral will be Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10 a.m. at New Life Baptist Church with Bill Vansant officiating.
Interment will be at Primitive Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
