Lucretia "Cricket" Smith Obituary

Lucretia “Cricket” Wood Smith, 72, of Metter passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at her residence in Metter.

Born in Poulan, Georgia, she was a daughter of John J. Knight and Elizabeth Jones Knight. Mrs. Smith lived most of her life in Pembroke before moving to Reidsville and then Metter several years ago.  She was a homemaker and helped with the family business, brick masonry.  Mrs. Smith was of the Baptist faith and loved spending time with her family and lived for her “Mountain Dew” that she drank every day.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Wood, Jeff Knight,  and J.T. Knight.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law Roy E. Roberts (Terri) of Aline, John D. Roberts (Jody) of Abbeville, and Joe Roberts (Kim) of Ellabell; two daughters, Angel Grimes (Ryan) of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee and Sara Deal of Metter; her brother, John Knight (Cindy) of Faulkville; five sisters, Sybil Collins (Kim) of Summerville, SC, Dottie Hunter of Columbia, SC, Shirley Blitch (Sammy) of Ellabell, Liz Knight of Savannah, Della Johnson of Columbia, SC and Jackie Wooten (Lou) of Faulkville; her grandchildren, Katie Doyle (Tony), Roy Roberts, III (Katie), Tiffany Crawford (Clay), Cassedy Williams, Clayton Horton, John Roberts, Jr. (Beth), Joshua Roberts, Lindsey Phillips (Ethan), Donnie Warren (Jennifer), Amber Wiggins (Gene), Joseph Roberts, Jr., Tabitha Roberts, Brittany Warren, Ashley Warren, Dylan Warren, Aaron Black, Haley   Deal, Emily Smith and several nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be held from 2 until 3 o’clock, Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

The funeral will be held 3 o’clock Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

Interment will be in Lake Cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
