William Lawton Bruner, of Savannah, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Seaside Health in Port Wentworth.
Mr. Bruner was born in Bulloch County and grew up on the family farm in Excelsior. He moved to Savannah in the early 1950’s and worked for Union Camp and owned and operated Sunshine Fence Company. After his retirement from Union Camp, Mr. Bruner opened Sunshine RV Park which he owned for many years before passing it on to his grandson. Mr. Bruner was one of the original founding members of Bible Baptist Church in Savannah and in later years was one of the initial contributing members of West Chatham Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding on the tractor and golfcart, traveling and RVing, racing, and meeting new people in the RV Park. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bruner was preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert, Herbert, and Dean.
Surviving are his wife, Annette K. Bruner and her family all of Metter; his daughter, Rebecca “Susie” Thomas (Franklin) of Savannah; two sons, Michael Aaron Bruner (Judy) of Powder Springs and William “Lloyd” Bruner (Donna) of Allen, Texas; his brother, Clyde Bruner (Ginny) of Metter; two sisters, Mildred Bragg of Metter and Emogene Rushing of Register; his grandchildren, Michael Wayne Bruner (Elizabeth), Caryn DiQuattro (Nathan), Landon Bruner, and Dawton Bruner; and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 11 o’clock in the morning on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.
The family will receive friends from 10 o’clock in the morning until the time of the funeral on Thursday at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.
Interment will follow in Lake Cemetery.
