Ann Williams Obituary

Annie Laura Culver Williams, 84, of Metter and wife of Howard W. Williams, died early Sunday, May 13, 2018 at home under the care of her loving family and Pruitt Hospice.

Mrs. Williams was born on April 27, 1934 in Twin City, Georgia.  She was a homemaker and a member of El Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Williams gave a lot of her time as a volunteer for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah and Emanuel County Hospital in Swainsboro.  Mrs. Williams enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Dell Peele Culver and Roger Culver, two brothers, Paul Murice Gay and James Gay.

Surviving are her devoted husband of 67 years, Howard Wilden Williams, Sr. of Metter; her daughter, Nancy Williams Carter of Ludowici; a son, Howard Wilden Williams, Jr. and his wife, Tonya of Metter; grandchildren, Chris Carter and his wife, Deona of Ludowici, Corey Williams and his wife, Lauren of Pooler; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Alex Carter of Ludowici and Elizabeth Williams of Pooler; two sisters, Frances Culver Watts of Birmingham, Alabama and Dorothy Culver Smith of Dublin; two brothers-in-law, Wayne Williams and his wife Pam and Ben A. Williams and his wife, Anna all of Metter; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

Visitation will be held from 1 o’clock until the funeral hour at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Interment will follow in El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Corey Williams, Christopher Carter, Alex Carter, Michael Parker, Jordan Manuel, Derrell Williams, and Chris Carter.
