Earl Collins Obituary

Earl Collins, Sr., 83, of Collins died late Thursday at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.

Born in Cobbtown, he was the son of Warnell and Tishie Collins.  Mr. Collins was a Baptist and in years past attended Pine Grove Baptist Church.  He served in the United States Navy and worked several jobs including operating heavy machinery and would later retire from Reidsville State Prison.  Mr. Collins loved hunting, fishing, and gardening.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Anne Elizabeth Cook Collins, and his beloved pet companion, Pooch.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl Frank Collins and Alison Collins of Collins, and Jeff and Nelsy Collins of Miami, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Theresa L. Collins and Rolando Davis of Miami; a sister, Earlene Meier of Mooresville, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Nikki Collins of Collins and Kyle Collins of Miami; two step-grandchildren, Hailey Smith and Macy Smith; and his nephews, Mike Pierce (Brenda), Michael D. Pierce, Jr., Joey Meier (Ann), Brian A. Pierce (Reba).

The funeral will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 o’clock in the evening on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.

Interment will be in Connors Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will gather at Bevricks Char House Grille at 5:30 on Sunday following the service.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
