Edna Mae Powell Obituary

Edna Mae McDaniel Powell, 96, of Cobbtown, and widow of Ernest Dewey Powell, died late Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

Born in Cobbtown, she was a daughter of Jessie McDaniel and Abbie Kicklighter McDaniel.  Mrs. Powell was a member of Cobbtown Missionary Baptist Church, now Cobbtown First Baptist Church, and later attended South Gardens Baptist Church in Savannah.  She was a homemaker and a retired seamstress.  Mrs. Powell loved to cook and was known for her biscuits and chocolate pies.  In addition to her husband, Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by a son, Jacky C. Powell.

Surviving are her two daughters Mary Ann Lynn of Savannah and Cletis Bradley (Charles) of Claxton; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Mrs. Powell will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Interment will follow in Sunlight Cemetery.
