Joseph "Joe" Ronald Williams Obituary

Joseph “Joe” Ronald Williams, 62, of Metter and husband of the late Beverly Ann Miles Williams, died Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at his residence.

Born in Metter, he was a son of Walter Williams and Annie Johnson Moon.  Joe was retired from Norfolk-Southern having worked with the railroad for over thirty-eight years.  He was a member of the Metter Free Will Baptist Church, now Anchor Worship Center, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Joe spent his extra time outdoors working on several projects such as his cars and equipment.  He loved Karaoke and the “Good Ole Country Music”.

Surviving are his two daughters and sons-in-law, Christina and Jason Holland and Denise and Miguel Aviles all of Metter; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Preston and Mary Anne Williams and Billy and Tina Williams all of Metter; his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Mike Beasley of Metter; a sister-in-law, Michele Holland and Twilla Jordan of Conley, GA; his mother-in-law, Cecile Blackburn of Conley, GA; five grandchildren, Caleb Williams, Alex Aviles, Samantha Aviles, Joey Aviles, Jared Holland all of Metter; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel with Rev. Jessie Goodman officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10 o’clock in the morning on Saturday until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Miguel Aviles, Jason Holland, Marc Beasley, Mike Beasley, Charlie Woods, and Clint Crosby.

Interment will follow in Lake Cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Home, Hooks Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
