I was so sad to hear of Karl's passing last week, at the USS Sunfish reunion recognizing that the Sunfish was commissioned 50 years ago. We had a memorial service alongside the USS Wisconsin in Norfolk, VA, read off the names of those past crew members that had died since the last reunion, including Karl's, and then tossed a memorial wreath into the harbor alongside the Wisconsin. I knew Karl as a young sonar technician when I was on the Sunfish. He was a very kind person, and soft-spoken. I can be reached at the email provided or at 802-439-6632 in Vermont. Sincerely, Hank

I remember Karl at the 2016 Florida Corgi Picnic working tirelessly along with others to set up tables, make sure he was doing whatever he could to help out. His love for Celeste and the corgis was evident from the first time I met them. As I have heard many times “his wings were ready, our hearts were not

My deepest sympathies to Celeste and their family. Karl will be deeply missed. He was definitely a huge part of the Corgi Picnic and Celestial Star Corgis. He loved the Corgis, maybe not the barking.. He was dedicated to Celeste and their Corgi Life. I am grateful to him for sharing his knowledge of Navy life when my son joined. He will always be remembered smiling and wearing his Corgi Picnic hat!

My dear Celeste, there are no words, only tears. I will be forever grateful I had the chance to meet Karl at the Picnic this year. He was a kind and gentle soul and he will be sorely missed. I will speak his name with love and tears at each Llyr's Fire. Holding you in my heart today and always. We remember...

Our hearts and prayers are with Celeste and family and all of the fur children as well. Karl was always so friendly and kind since the first time we met in Osteen and he fascinated Randy with a shrimp plant he had just gotten. His love for Celeste and his fur kids was undeniable. He worked untiringly on the Florida Corgi Picnic every single year. We will miss him very much. We know he was met by so many wiggling nubbies in Heaven. XXOO
