Anne Kimbrough Jennison, 92, of Atlanta and formerly of Metter, died late Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Halcyon Hospice in Atlanta.
Born in Metter, she was a daughter of Hugh Russell Kimbrough, Sr., and Maggie May Jones Kimbrough. Mrs. Jennison graduated from Metter High School before moving to Savannah where she worked on Fort Stewart in Banking during World War II before moving to Atlanta in the late 1940’s. She was retired from C and S Bank in Atlanta and was a member of Peachtree Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Lydia Jennison Aynsley, and Leslie Jennison.
Surviving are her son, Kimbrough Jennison and his wife, Harriet Peters of Atlanta; two daughters, Julie Jennison Austin of Atlanta, and Jennifer Jennison Broxson and her husband, John of Smyrna; a sister, Margaret Kimbrough Norboge of Savannah; three grandchildren, Jack August McCoy and his wife Rebecca, Joseph Austin, and Benjamin Austin; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Metter Primitive Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 2018 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.
Interment will be in Lake Cemetery. A brief service for her daughter, the late Leslie Jennison will follow at the graveside.
