Orval Richard "Ricky" Rigdon Obituary

Orval Richard “Ricky” Rigdon, 64, of Ollifftown, died Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Memorial University Health in Savannah.

Born in Candler County, he was a son of O.B. and Bertie Rigdon and lived most of his life in the Ollifftown Community.  He was of the baptist faith and was retired from construction having worked for Bill Mercer Construction.  Ricky loved hunting, fishing, and growing vegetables.

Surviving are his brothers, Earl Rigdon of Metter, Carl Rigdon of Metter, Jack Rigdon (Betty) of Midville; his sisters, Bonnie Jarrell (Gary) of Ollifftown, Rita Cowart (Gary) of Wadley, Penny Watson (Tim) of Twin City; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held 11 o’clock in the morning, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel with Rev. Ben Gay officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Rosemary Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Rigdon, Lane Jarrell, Bishop Jarrell, George Vaughn, Zach Dalgard, Cale Holloway, and Garrett Jarrell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Raiford Jarrell, Randall Jarrell, Jerry Holloway, and Elb Donaldson.
