Richard “Richie” John Garcia, 64, of Savannah died early Saturday morning, December 15, 2018 at Orchard Health and Rehabilitation in Pulaski.
Born in New York City, New York, Richie was a son of Ysidro Garcia and Inez Canagnaro Garcia. He was a communicant of the Catholic faith. Richie was a stock broker with the New York Stock Exchange in his early years and would later open his own business New Dorp Plaza Ceramics on Staten Island. He moved to Savannah in 2000 and worked for the Chatham County Mosquito Control. Richie had an artistic talent and loved working with ceramics. He was a devoted son and brother and loved his pets dearly.
Surviving are his sisters, Dorothy DeHaven of Savannah and Janice Turrisi of Maggie Valley, North Carolina; two nieces, Myria Shipman and Brittany Hall both of Savannah; and several great nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held later.
