Suzanne Sparks Nascimento

Suzanne Sparks Nascimento, 58, of Richmond Hill went to be with the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ early Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at her residence.

Born in Metter, she was the daughter of Dr. Henry C. Sparks, Jr. and Helen Powell Sparks.  Suzanne was a graduate of Middle Georgia College, now Middle Georgia State University.  She was a Registered Nurse and saved many lives as a Cardiac Care Nurse at the Macon Medical Center as well as in the ICU and Emergency Room at Perry Hospital in Perry, Georgia.   She later moved to Richmond Hill in 2004.  Suzanne had a passionate heart for the bible and a love for poetry.  She also had a love for animals and would rescue any animal in need when she could.  She loved travelling with the love of her life, Bill in the United States and Caribbean and enjoyed Scuba Diving.  Suzanne loved caring, advocating, and was a prayer warrior for friends and family and believed that was what she was called to do. 

In addition to her father, Suzanne was preceded in death by her first husband, Mike Herald, her niece, Amy Julien, her aunt, Alicia Powell, and her son-in-law, Joe Hammett.

Surviving are her husband, William “Bill” Nascimento of Richmond Hill, her mother, Helen Powell Sparks; two daughters, Kristin Hammett of Perry and Kandice Ferris (Ben) of Marietta; grandchildren, Payton Hammett, Tucker Hammett, Evelyn Mae Ferris, and John Henry Ferris;  two brothers, Joe Sparks of Metter and Henry Sparks, III (Patricia) of Bonaire; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 1, 2019 from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.

The graveside funeral service will be held Friday November 1, 2019 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon in Lake Cemetery.
