Wayne Olliff

Wayne Raymond Olliff, Jr., age 51, of Lawrenceville and formerly of Metter and Statesboro, GA at died at 6:10 p.m. September 23, 2017. He died from injuries sustained in a tragic car accident  after scuba diving, one of his greatest passions.

Wayne was born in Savannah on June 10, 1966.  He graduated from Metter High School in 1984 with honors.  Wayne attended Georgia Southern University and later Georgia Tech where he studied electrical and computer engineering.  He worked for HP, IBM, and currently with Lenovo as a systems administrator/Linux support. Wayne served in the United States Navy as a machinist.  He enjoyed scuba diving, karaoke, and spending time with family and friends.  To know Wayne was to love him and he could light up a room.  Wayne was like a big teddy bear who loved children and they loved him. He had a larger than life presence with his laughter and gift for song.  Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Harrison Olliff and his loving grandparents.

Suriving are his wife, Crystal Becker Olliff of Lawrenceville; his mother, Wanda Lanier Olliff Finch of Statesboro; his children, Brandon Wayne Olliff (Rachel) of Woodlawn, TN, Jaime Elizabeth Olliff of Statesboro, and Jeffrey Blake Olliff of Orange Park, Florida; his step-children, Brice Becker, Caleb Becker, and Nathan Becker of Columbia, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Brandon Wayne Olliff, Jr. of Woodlawn, TN, Emalyn Kate Olliff of Woodlawn, TN, and Byron Reece Linto of Statesboro; two half-brothers, Randy Olliff of Twin City and Jonathon Olliff of Metter; and a blended family of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and a multitude of dear friends.

 Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 o’clock in the evening on Thursday at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel

The funeral will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Cedar Street Baptist Church. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service on Friday.

 Pallbearers will be Hershel Lanier III, Jason S. Lanier, John L. Miller, Jeffery Randall Miller, Blaine Pratt, Ben Safin, Arnold Smith, Russell Sherman. Lorenzo Hill, Dustin Emerich, James McNeeley, Barry Mitchell, Steve Tant, and Roger Miller.

Interment will be in Primitive Grove Cemetery.
