Acela Bustos Anduiza, of Surrency, passed away late Friday, December 26, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Acela was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. She moved to the United States in 1946 and resided in California until 1986, when she moved to Jesup and later to Surrency, where she lived for the past several years. She was a devoted homemaker and a communicant of the Catholic Church.
Acela loved caring for and cooking for her family. She had a passion for singing and was known for her playful sense of humor, often being the “cut-up” of the family.
In addition to her husband, Luis Anduiza, Acela was preceded in death by a grandson, Bart Roberson, who passed away in 2016.
Survivors include her daughter, Marcie Stone of Surrency; three grandchildren, Patricia Anderson, Acela Brinson (Jason), and Tammie Bozman; along with several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Interment for Mrs. Anduiza will take place at a later date in the family cemetery in Mexico.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter, is in charge of the arrangements.
