Annette Joyner, beloved mother, grandmother, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13th, 2026, at the age of 78. Annette was born on March 8th, 1948, and spent over 40 years of her life in the warm community of Metter, where she touched the hearts of many.
Annette is survived by her loving partner, Ray Jeter; son, Albert Johnson Jr. and his wife Laura Sutton; daughters, Sherry Lindsey and her husband David, Edna Ann Tate; and her cherished honorary children, Becky McGrady and her husband Alex, and Michael Bailey and his wife Melissa. She also leaves behind her devoted siblings, Rita Pierce, and Trisha Stone and her husband Rick. Among those who grieve her passing are her grandchildren, Aaron Johnson, Abigail Johnson, Derek Lindsey and his wife Erin, Jason Rewis and his wife Terri, Amy La Fleur, Casey Anderson and his wife Mary, and Shyann Amerson and her husband Trey, as well as her beloved great-grandchildren Laken Johnson, Madison Lindsey, Kileigh Bernard, Bree Ann Rewis, Makayla Rewis, Jason Rewis Jr., Nicholas Rewis, Cody Rewis, Autumn Rewis, Luke Miller, Levi Miller, Bo McGrady, Kallie Bailey, Tyler Bailey, and Destiny McGrady.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Alfred Jamison Lemacks and Irene Nipper Lemacks; her husband, Albert Johnson Sr.; and her siblings, Andy Neil Anderson, Marta Lemacks, Joanne Williams, Gail Gunn, and Alfred Jamison Jr.
Annette dedicated her career to serving as a consumer safety inspector for the USDA, where she was known for her meticulous work and dedication. Her contributions to her field are remembered by those who worked alongside her.
In her personal life, Annette found joy in the simple pleasures, such as fishing, gardening, and hunting. Her loyal dog, Sparky, was a cherished companion. She was devoted to spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Annette's love for adventure took her to the beach and the mountains, where she found peace in nature. She was a steadfast member of the Pulaski Baptist Church community, where her faith was a guiding force in her life.
A funeral service to honor Annette's beautiful life will be held on Wednesday, September 16th, 2026, at 2 PM at Anderson-Newman Funeral Home, Kennedy-Hooks Chapel. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place from 12-2 PM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to pay their respects.
Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Johnson, Jason Rewis, Alex McGrady, Knocker Sikes, Jimmy Donaldson, and William Pierce, who will carry Annette to her final resting place with love and reverence.
Annette Joyner's kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the everlasting comfort of her loved ones gone before her.
