Bonnie F Rodgers

Bonnie Faye Fincher Rodgers, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, at Ogeechee Area Hospice, Statesboro, Ga. Born in Cullman, Alabama to the late Alfred R. and Ruby Cash Fincher. Bonnie lived a life deeply rooted in family, heritage, and service to those she loved.

For 70 years, Bonnie was the devoted wife of Buel D. Rodgers. As a homemaker, she was the steady anchor of her family, beautifully supporting her husband through both his military and civilian careers while raising their two daughters.

Bonnie possessed a sharp mind and a passion for history. As an active and proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), she dedicated countless hours to genealogy, meticulously tracing family linages and exploring historic ancestral grave sites. When she wasn’t uncovering the past, Bonnie could be found outdoors tending to her vibrant garden and enjoying time with her neighbors.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by siblings Alton Fincher, Alfred Fincher, Bill Fincher, and Laverne Fincher.

Her legacy of love, strength, and curiosity lives on through her family. She is survived by her sibling, Wynona Fincher Moon, of Cullman, Al. Her two daughters, RaDonna Sapp, of Statesboro, Ga. and Sharon Stanovich (Mark), of Macon, Ga. She was the cherished grandmother of Jared Sapp (Talia), Adam Sapp, and Jenni Sapp, of Statesboro, and Josh Stanovich (Bobbie) of Macon, and the proud great-grandmother of Vinny and Violet Sapp, of Statesboro, and Halie Stanovich, of Macon, Ga; along with many nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Glennville, Ga.
