Danny Cecil Olliff

Danny Cecil Olliff, 73, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.

Danny was born in Metter, Georgia where he learned the values of hard work and integrity that would guide him throughout his life. He graduated from Metter High School. He married Brenda Bowen of Metter before completing his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia with Magna Cum Laude honors and became a Certified Public Accountant. Following graduation, Danny and Brenda moved to Savannah, where he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from John Marshall Law School.

Upon completing his education, he returned home to Metter, where Danny established his career as a CPA and attorney at Olliff & Fordham, CPAs PC and Danny Olliff Attorney-CPA, PC for over 45 years. Through his practice, he became a trusted advisor to generations of families and businesses, earning the respect of clients for his wisdom, honesty, and unwavering integrity. Danny served as the Attorney for Pineland Telephone Cooperative for 41 years and on the Board of Directors for Durden Banking Company for 23 years. He was nominated Lieutenant Colonel, Aide De Camp, Governor’s Staff. He was a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, the Georgia Society of CPAS, the American Institute of CPAs, and the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants, Inc.

No role brought Danny greater joy than being “D” to his 16 grandchildren. He delighted in watching them grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and simply being present in their lives. They were unquestionably his greatest pride. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Brenda Bowen Olliff, and his parents, Jim Frank and Joy Olliff.

He leaves behind a remarkable legacy through his five daughters and their families; Claudia Montford, Ramsee (Weston) Fields, Emily (Jeff) Register, Danielle (Weston) Wilkes, Natalie (Clint) Turner; including 16 beloved grandchildren, Danni, Cecilia and Dustan Montford; Ethan, Jack Evan, Mary Bess and Weslee Fields; Brantley, Ellis, Sumner and Jeffrey Register; Tate Wilkes; Waylan, Ollie, Miller and Brendan Turner; his siblings, Beth (John C) Young, Lamar Olliff, Robert Olliff, Kenny (Connie) Olliff, Patti (Kurt) Gosch, Angela (Dennis) Hogue, Vicki Bowen; mother in law, Patricia Bowen and many nieces and nephews and countless dear friends.

Danny will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, trusted friend, accomplished businessman, generous community supporter, and a man whose character spoke far louder than his words.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. at Metter Primitive Baptist Church.

The funeral will be on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11am at Metter Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Michael Newman officiating.

Interment will be at Lake Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation, PO Box 62066, Durham, NC 27715, or to Metter Primitive Baptist Church, PO BOX 672, Metter, GA 30439.
