Dwayne M. “Tootie” Sikes of Cobbtown, husband of Beth Sikes, passed away on March 31, 2026.
Dwayne was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Collins, where he had been active in the choir in years past. Early in his working life, he worked on the family farm and at the Cobbtown Mall. He later began a career with the Georgia Department of Corrections, followed by employment at Claxton RYDC. Later he worked at the Joseph Home for Boys in Statesboro.
Dwayne enjoyed watching sports on television, especially football and basketball. He loved going out to eat on weekends and always looked forward to those outings. Above all, he dearly loved his family, and his daughter, Skyler, held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Mann Sikes and Frances Cardell Sikes; and his brother, Willard Dale Sikes.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Beth Sikes; his daughter, Skyler Sikes (Justin); his in-laws, Vernon and June Sikes; a brother, Don Sikes (Amy); a sister, Donna Baggett (Randall); nephews, Shawn Sikes (Debbie) and Shane Sikes; nieces, Mandy Bailey (Travis) and Shelby Sikes; one great-niece, Aubrey Sikes; and great-nephews, Jefferson Bailey and William Bailey.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with interment to follow at Sunlight Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Allen Crooms, Bobby Crooms, Shawn Sikes, Larry Dean Collins, Jimmy Powell, and Travis Bailey.
Honorary Pallbearers Ronny Collins, Glenn Cardell, Randy Brown, Jeff Sikes, Danny Humphrey, and Rick Coley.
Remembrances may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church or the Sunlight Cemetery Fund.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
