Dianna Bonnema Owens

Dianna Bonnema Owens of Twin City, widow of James David Owens, Sr., passed away late Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Dianna was raised in Gary, Indiana. She later moved to Metter, Georgia, where she graduated from Metter High School. A dedicated caregiver, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Grace Gardens.

On July 11, 1970, she married, James David Owens, Sr. Dianna enjoyed spending time watching television, cooking for family and friends, and caring for the pets she dearly loved.

Dianna was preceded in death by her parents, Albert James Bonnema and Lorine Forehand Bonnema; three sisters, Patty Fail, Judy Spudville and Linda Bonnema.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Owens (Ricky) of Portal; her son, Jimmy Owens of Port Orange, Florida; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Bobby Allen Owens; her sisters-in-law, Eddie Vonnett Dixon and Shirley Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of arrangements.
