Donald “Don” Green, of Collins, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia.
Don was born in Savannah, Georgia on August 7, 1965, and was a son of Clarence Coye Green and Betty Riner Green.
Don served his community as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Tattnall County Board of Commissioners for many years until his retirement. Don felt most at home in the great outdoors. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping on the Ohoopee River and the Altamaha River. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his dog, Bently. You could always count on Don to say one of his famous sayings like: “It’ll be alright.”
Don is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother, Larry Green.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy Green of Collins; a brother, Coye Green; two sisters, Debra Phillips (Ricky) of Ellabell and Cathy Green Findley (Franklin) of Richmond Hill; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.
The family will receive visitors from 1:30 until the time of the funeral at the funeral home on Saturday.
Interment will be in Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Justin Lively, Damon Green, Dustin Green, Keith Green, Brandon Findley, and Jeremy Threatte.
Trey Lively will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
