Fannie Holloway, 99, passed away Tuesday December 3, 2024, at Ogeechee Area Hospice.
She was the daughter of Henry Elton and Vera Jane Collins McCullough and a long-time resident of Candler County. Fannie was in the first EMT graduating class of Candler County Hospital. She loved her neighbors and community and was a devoted caregiver to anyone who needed help. She married Jackson Holloway, and they farmed together for many years. Keeping a beautiful yard and garden was Fannie’s pride and joy. She worked in her yard and flowerbeds up until this last year. She was a member of the New Beaulah Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Jackson Holloway; her son, Johnny Holloway; brothers, James McCullough, H.J. McCullough, Eugene “Bunk” McCullough and Billy Ray McCullough; sisters, Annie Lois Davis and Alberta Dukes and a grandchild, Lyle Jade Wendel.
Surviving are her sons, Jerry (Michelle) Holloway of Metter and Joey (Monice) Holloway of Metter; daughters, June Holloway of Metter and Faye (Michael) Holloway of Metter; eleven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Douglas McCullough of Portal; sister, Margie Brown of Brunswick; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 7 at New Beaulah Church in Metter.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the church on Saturday.
Interment will be at Rosemary Primitive Baptist Church.
