Genaro Castillo Vega

Genaro Castillo Vega passed away on November 18th, 2025 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in La Ciudad de Charcas, S.L.P., he was the son of Jose Castillo and Tomasa Vega . He lived in Metter most of his life and was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He enjoyed cooking out for his family and listening to old country music. He always loved to watch reruns of baseball, football, and soccer games. He also enjoyed hitting the dance floor with his family members every chance he got; his favorite pass times was carpentry and scratching lottery tickets.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Castillo and Tomasa Vega; his siblings, Raymundo, Leonardo, Matilde, Maria, Patricia, Cristina, Luterio, and Epifanio Castillo Vega.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Manuela Lira; His siblings Porfiria Castillo Vega, Victoriano Castillo Vega, and Ventura Garcia Castillo; His children Jessica Ivethe Castillo Martell, Omar Alejandro Castillo Marthell, Narcisa Aguilar, and stepdaughter, Gloria Galvan; His grandchildren Cristopher Caleb Castillo Aguilar, Fatima Castillo Aguilar, Ivethe Castillo Aguilar, Alejandro Pineda, Leilani Pineda, Vicky Galvan, Cristina Valdivia, Graciela Overstreet, Charlie Galvan, Maria Julissa Perez, Lawrence Joseph Galvan, and Angel Galvan; and 7 greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers are Martin Fuentes, Miguel Valdivia, Charlie Galvan, Abraham Valdivia, Roberto Carlos Nieto, and Lawrence Joseph Galvan.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 2:00 in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter. Pastor Porfirio Covarrubias will be officiating.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22 from 5-7 PM at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

Interment will follow in Lake Cemetery.

Nacio en La Ciudad de Charcas, S.L.P., era hijo de Jose Castillo y Tomasa Vega. El vivio en Metter, Ga. gran parte de su Vida y era de la fe Catolica. A el le gustaba pescar y pasar tiempo con su familia. Le gustaba cocinar para su familia y escuchar canciones rancheras viejitas. A el le gustaba mirar repeticiones de juegos de beisbol, futbol americano, y futbol Mexicano. Tambien le gustaba bailar con su familia cada que podia; su pasatiempo favorito era la carpinteria y rascar boletos de la loteria.

Sus padres, Jose Castillo y Tomasa Vega, y sus hermanos, Raymundo, Leonardo, Matilde, Maria, Patricia, Cristina, Luterio, y Epifanio Castillo Vega, fallecieton antes que el.

Sobreviven su amada esposa de 28 años, Manuela Lira; sus hermanos, Porfirio Castillo Vega, Victoriano Castillo Vega, y Ventura Garcia Castillo; sus hijos Jessica Ivethe Castillo Martell, Omar Alejandro Castillo Martell, Narcisa Aguilar, y su hijastra Gloria Galvan; sus nietos Christopher Caleb Castillo Aguilar, Fatima Castillo Aguilar, Ivethe Castillo Aguilar, Alejandro Piñeda, Leilani Piñeda, Vicky Galvan, Cristina Valdivia, Graciela Overstreet, Charlie Galvan, Julissa Perez, Joseph Galvan, y Angel Galvan; y 7 bisnietos.

El servicio funebre sera el Domingo, 23 de Noviembre del 2025, alas 2:00 de la tarde en La Funeraria Kennedy Homes, Hooks Chapel de Metter, Ga. con el Pastor Porfirio Covarrubiad oficiando.

Velorio sera el Sabado, 22 de Noviembre del 2025, de las 5-7 de la tarde en La Guneraria Kennedy Homes, Hooks Chapel de Metter, Ga. Se hara un rosario alas 6pm este mismo dia.

El entierro tendra lugar en el Cementerio del Lago.
