Jack Edmond Daniel

d. March 12, 2026

Jack Edmond Daniel, born December 12, 1950, passed away on March 12, 2026, surrounded by family after a period of declining health.

Jack was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who truly never met a stranger. Known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and love for people, Jack had a special way of making everyone feel welcome. If you talked with him for even a few minutes, you likely walked away feeling like you had known him your whole life. Jack attended Metter High School where he was known as Mr. Metterite. Even at a young age he was recognized for his personality, his ability to connect with people, and the friendships he made. Jack had a deep love for music. In high school he played the drums in a band called the Night Riders with his cousin Jimmy Hensley, and music remained something he enjoyed throughout his life.

Jack lived a life full of stories and experiences. During his younger years he spent time living in Italy where he worked for Monk and learned to speak Italian. Those years became some of his favorite stories to tell. Over the years Jack worked in several fields including selling cars, a job that fit his personality well with his natural ability to connect with people. Back in the day Jack also owned Jack’s Store, which became more than just a store. It was a place where people gathered, shared stories, and enjoyed each other’s company. It reflected the kind of person Jack was, someone who loved bringing people together. Jack loved music, movies, good food, and spending time with family and friends. Many will remember the Christmas Eve parties that he hosted over the years where friends and family gathered for laughter, food, and fellowship.

Cooking was another way Jack showed love to those around him. Between him and his mother, they created many memories in the kitchen. He was especially known for his barbecue and his Rooter’s BBQ sauce, which many people enjoyed for years. More than anything Jack loved his family. He was a devoted father and proud grandfather who loved his children and grandchildren deeply. His gentle nature, patience, and kindness were evident to everyone who knew him. Jack will be remembered for his warmth, his stories, his cooking, and the way he brought people together.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother Ann Hensley Daniel, his father Blitch Parrish Daniel, and his sister Valerie Daniel.

He is survived by his children, Brandy Snell and husband Steven and Jack Avery Daniel and fiancée Lucy Battle; his grandchildren, Hudson and Harrison Snell; his brother, Malcolm Daniel; his brother and sister-in-law, Dallas and Mary Ellen Daniel; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 1-3 p.m. at Lake Primitive Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., officiated by Brother Randy Waters, with burial following at Lake Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his nephews Zach Daniel, Dallas Daniel, Brennan Daniel, Wesley Daniel, Matthew Daniel, Gatlin Daniel, Blitch Daniel, and his oldest grandson Hudson Snell.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
