James David Owens, Sr.

James David Owens, Sr., of Twin City, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Owens was born in Metter and was the son of Edward Owens and Victoria Poole Owens. He worked for Pepsi Co. in Savannah for thirty years, beginning on the ground floor and advancing to a management position before his retirement in 2017. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing and working on cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Edward “Buddy” Owens, Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Dianna Bonnena Owens of Twin City; a daughter, Lisa Owens (Ricky) of Portal; a son, Jimmy Owens of Port Orange, Florida; two sisters, Shirley Brown of Reidsville and Vonnette Vail of Macon; a brother, Bobby Owens of Statesboro; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service date and time will be announced by the family.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel of Metter, is in charge of the arrangements.
