Jean C. West, 79, of Metter and formerly of Brunswick, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at Cedar Plantation Assisted Living in Metter.
Mrs. West was a daughter of Charlie and Vergie Cox. She was a retired dental hygienist and an author. She was an author and whose work included “Saying Goodbye” ~ My Spiritual Journey Through Death and Dying. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of The Skidaway Baptist Church since 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Virgie Walker Cox.
She is survived by her husband, Jack West; a son, John Hargrove, step-daughters, Kristy Kinney, Karla Engle, Kathy Hodges and Jodi Foster; a sister, Betty Hass of Savannah; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.
Interment will be in Lake Cemetery.
