Jeanette Collins Powell Lamb, of Cobbtown, passed away on July 9, 2026, at her son's home in Athens, Georgia, under the loving care of her son and hospice.
Born on September 6, 1930, in Tattnall County, she was the daughter of Daniel Gladston Collins and Nannie Lou Durden Collins. Mrs. Lamb worked as a bookkeeper for Canoochee EMC until her retirement after many years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist faith and found great joy in fishing at the family's place at Pleasure Bluff on Shellman Bluff.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Powell, and her second husband, Otis Carl Lamb.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Gilbert Powell of Athens; her grandson, Alex Powell (Coker) of Spartanburg, South Carolina; her granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Powell Holcombe (Tom Elliot) of Bogart, Georgia; and her great-grandchildren, Sadie Powell, Net Powell, and Lennon Daniel Holcombe.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in the Cobbtown Chapel of Kennedy Funeral Homes with Elder Mike Newman Officiating. Pallbearers will be Alex Powell, Hudak Hendrix, Doy Hendrix, Larry Durden, Charles Durden and Don Powell.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Interment will follow at Sunlight Cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
