Jimmie Lee Gibbs

Jimmie Lee Gibbs, 74, of Metter and husband of Liza Jane Gibbs, died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Candler County Hospital.

Born in Highland City, Florida, he was a son of John William Gibbs and Frances Bowen Gibbs.  Mr. Gibbs was a veteran, having retired from the United States Army after many years of service.  He was raised Baptist and received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Tampa.  Mr. Gibbs loved to fish and loved spending time with his family especially his wife, children, and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Gibbs was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Gibbs and a brother, Michael Gibbs.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-five years, Liza Jane McCranie Gibbs of Metter; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Patty Gibbs of Fresno California and Kevin and Kathleen Gibbs of Metter; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Candy Gibbs of Wesley Chapel, Florida; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held later.
