Karen Dykes

Karen Dykes, formerly of Milledgeville, Georgia, passed away on September 19, 2026, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia.

Karen was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she earned a Doctor of Education degree. She devoted 25 years to teaching and education, with much of her career spent at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville.

Karen had a love for many things. She especially enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs play football, learning about history, and shopping. She will be remembered for her dedication to education and for the many lives she touched throughout her career.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

Karen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, former students, and colleagues.
