Kathy Ann Dowell Cress, 58, of Collins died Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Candler-St Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. The Winston Salem native moved to Collins almost a year ago from Maryland where she had lived for 50 years. She was a 1975 graduate of Northeast High School in Pasadena, Maryland. While working, Kathy was a Security Specialist for Omnisec. She loved riding her Harley Davidson, her Polaris Ranger and reading romance novels.
Survivors are husband, Tom Cress of Collins; parents, William Calvin and Barbara Faye Culler Dowell of Maryland; a step-son and his family, Chris, Angela and Justin Cress of West Viginia; two sisters, Vickie Peranio and Tammy Stivers; a brother, Sam Dowell, Jr., mother-in-law, Nancy Cress; her Cress brothers and sisters, Rick and Jane Cress, Sharon Donlan, Sandy and Jack Willis all of Maryland and Gary and Karen Cress of Cobbtown; the love of her life, Taylor; along with many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, 2:00 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Rev. Steve Kimbrell officiating. Guest book: www.kennedyfuneralhomechapels.com.
