Luana Jean Kitchens

Mrs. Luana Jean Wiezorek Kitchens, age 79, entered into eternal rest on July 14, 2026 at Southern Manor at Candler. Born on January 18, 1947, to parents William and Margaret Wiezorek, Luana was a long-time resident of Candler County. She attended North Georgia Technical College in Clarkesville, GA where she met her husband, Marion Harvey “M.H.” Kitchens, Jr. She resided in Gainsville, GA for many years where she and M.H. raised their family. Luana was a member of Cedar Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed boating, riding motorcycles and spending time in the great outdoors. She loved spending time with her family, most of all her husband, M.H. Kitchens.

In addition to her husband Marion Harvey “M.H.” Kitchens, Jr, and parents, Luana is preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Hobbs and Judy Wiezorek.

Those who will cherish Luana’s memory include her son and daughter-in-law, William “Bill” and Rosemary Kitchens; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Brandon Loyd; grandchildren, Cole, Cameron, and Courtney Kitchens, and Preston and Carter Loyd; great-grandchild, Luke Kitchens; nephews, Robert, John, James, Brian, Tony and Tim; nieces, Mary Ann, Jennifer, Julie, June, and Jean, as well as several other, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will take place on Friday, July 31, 2026, beginning at 11 AM at Kennedy Funeral Home, Hooks Chapel, of Metter. The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service from 9:30-11 :00 AM. Burial will follow the funeral service at Lake Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cedar Street Baptist Church in honor of Mrs. Luana Jean Wiezorek Kitchens. Kennedy Funeral Home, Hooks Chapel of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
