Marie Padgett Driggers, of Cobbtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. She was 82.
Born on April 6, 1943, Mrs. Driggers was the daughter of Wallace Padgett and Inez McCullogh Padgett. A lifelong resident of Cobbtown, she was a devoted homemaker who cherished the simple joys of life. She loved watching television, buying lottery tickets, and never missed a chance to strike up a conversation. Known for her friendly nature, she truly never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Driggers; a son, Tony Amerson; her brother, Lucky Padgett; her nephew, Louie Lynn; and several nephews.
Mrs. Driggers is survived by her sons, Jimmy Ray Driggers and James Douglas Driggers, both of Cobbtown; a grandson, Jimmy Ray Driggers, Jr. of Collins; a great-granddaughter, Ava Driggers; her brother, Jimmy Padgett (Judy); two sisters, Ann Lynn (Harry) and Judie Padgett; and a dear friend, Lorrie.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
