Matthew Ryan Wilson, 38, of Statesboro, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at his residence in Statesboro.

Matthew was born on November 28, 1987, to George Wilson and Jennifer Sheffield. He was a graduate of Statesboro High School. Matthew

was a Christian who enjoyed video gaming and photography, especially capturing pictures of clouds. He was also especially fond of his beloved dog, Radar.

Matthew was preceded in death by his father, George Wilson.

Matthew is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jennifer and Dewayne Sheffield; his maternal grandmother, Jane Smith; and his brothers and sisters, Phillip Wilson, Valerie Longworth, Josh Wilson, Kimberly Wilson, Trisha Milton, DJ Sheffield, Josh Sheffield, Nikki Sheffield, Christy Powell, Amy Howell, Noah Sheffield, and Lilly Sheffield.

The funeral service will be held 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.  The family will receive friends from 1 o'clock until the time of the funeral on Saturday at the funeral home.
