Richard Lee Hummel

Richard L Hummel of Metter, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026 at the age of 84.

He was born on August 5, 1941. Richard enjoyed a quiet life centered around the simple pleasures that brought him joy. An avid read and golfer, he also enjoyed faithfully following Georgia Southern University volleyball and women's basketball.

Richard is survived by his children, Terry (Ondrea) Hummel, Sandra (Dan) Ferguson, and Kimberly (David) Critchley, and grandchildren, Evan Hummel, Lannie Conn, Alex Conn, Alyssa Christenson, Brittany Montealvo, Blake Christiansen, and Ben Christiansen. He is also survived by his brothers Dennis and Doug, several great-grandchildren, and many special extended family members.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
