Theodore Owen Odom

Feb 18, 1938 — Jul 16, 2026

Theodore "Owen" Odom, 88, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026.

Born on February 10, 1938, Owen lived the last 35 years of his life in Candler County, Georgia, where he became a familiar and respected member of the community. A hardworking and dedicated man, he spent 54 years working for Gene Odom Farms, a place he considered much more than a job—it was his life's work.

Owen had a deep love for farming and found great joy in caring for the cows, baling hay, and keeping the farm's equipment running. He was a talented mechanic who could fix just about anything, and he took pride in using his skills to help keep the farm operating day after day. His strong work ethic, dependability, and quiet dedication earned the respect of everyone who knew him.

More than anything, Owen loved the simple pleasures of country life and the satisfaction that came from an honest day's work. He will be remembered for his kind heart, humble spirit, willingness to lend a helping hand, and unwavering commitment to the people and work he loved.

He is survived by his son, Teddy Odom (Michele) of Claxton; daughter, Denise Odom of Claxton; cousin, Gene Odom (Sandra) of Metter; Grandchild, Macy Fennel (Corey); Great Grandchildren, Kinsley, Cade and Emersyn Fennell.
