Verdie Lee Mack Martin

Verdie L. Martin, 85, of Cobbtown passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Wadley. She was the daughter of the late Abijah Abney and Daisy Collins Mack and lived most of her life in Cobbtown. Mrs. Verdie was a homemaker and a member of the Hillside Church of God. She was a loving mother of eight children and a foster parent for many years in Tattnall County. Preceding her in death were her husband, Daniel P. Martin; a daughter, Joy Martin; three brothers, Buford, Jimmy and Rabun Mack; two sisters, Maudena Morgan and Vondell Bradham Siler.

Survivors are four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Joan Martin of Cobbtown, Danny and Lisa Martin of Cobbtown, Gary and Peggy Martin of Uvalda and Jerone Martin of Cobbtown; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Edward Dickerson of Metter, Carolyn and Van Murray of Cobbtown, Darlene and Alvin Radford of Wadley; a sister, Naomi Brown of Aline; a brother, Jerry (Lynn) Mack of Adairsville; sixteen grandchildren; thirty five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2:00 pm, at Hillside Church of God with Rev. Alvin Radford, Rev. Jack Dorminy and Rev. Ellen Dorminy officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.
