Amy Blackburn Obituary

Amy Elizabeth Blackburn, 15, of Metter, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Amy was born in Statesboro on June 28, 2004 and lived in Metter all of her life.  She was of the Baptist faith. She had 2 cats, Steve and Will, and her dog Roxy that she loved so much. Amy loved spending time with her family, shopping and keeping up with the latest fashions.  In recent months, she enjoyed late afternoon rides with her mother and sister.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Earnest “Spot” Oliver and Roberta “Bobbie” Oliver, and her paternal grandparents, Alfred Blackburn and Ruby Blackburn.

Surviving are her mother, Christy Oliver Blackburn; her father, Ray Blackburn; two sisters, Allison Blackburn and Matilda Robins (Marty); a nephew Nathan Robins; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 7, 2020 from 5 until 8 o’clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

The graveside service will be held 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Lake Cemetery.   

Pallbearers will be Aaron Ramirez, Chandler Blackburn, Eric Rennau, Randall Sapp, Michael Coursey, and Daniel Meade.

Remembrances may be made to The Ronald McDonald House, 3450 Park Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri, 63104, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Avenue, Suite 1100 N, Bethesda, Maryland, 20814, or to the organization of the donors’ choice.
