Craig Tatro Obituary

Craig Allen Tatro, 63, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, at St. Josephs Hospital in Savannah, Ga. 

He was the son of Bill Leon Tatro and Mary Elizabeth Gardner Wold.  He began his career as a Sharpshooter with the United States Army.  He was also a Correctional Officer.  He loved hunting and fishing.  Craig loved spending time with his family and friends, but his grandchildren were his life.  He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and NASCAR fan of Dale Earnhart, Jr. and Chase Elliott. He was a member of the Sunlight Primitive Baptist Church.  He is preceded in death by his father and his sister, Patti Tatro.

Surviving is his wife of 42 years; Roxanne Collins Tatro; a daughter, Brandy Nicole Messex (Jessie); grandson, Trever Messex; granddaughter, Whitney Messex; brothers, Paul Tatro (Julie), Billy Tatro (Linda), and Phillip Tatro; sister, Kristen Cowperthwaite (David), and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.

The funeral service will be Monday, September 27, 2021, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Ashton Meeks, Richard Kennedy, Van Kennedy, Ray Spivey, Joey Lamb and Brian Moseley.

Interment will be at Sunlight Cemetery.
