Eugene "Talmadge" Hadden Obituary

Eugene “Talmadge” Hadden, 91, of Metter, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Cedar Plantation Assisted Living in Metter.

Mr. Hadden was born in Metter and was a son of Claude Henry Hadden and Lottie Rhinehart Hadden.  He was a charter member of Cedar Street Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard, having served in the Korean War. Mr. Hadden was a farmer and truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Erma Jean Miles Hadden, his second wife, Ella Smith Thompson Hadden, and a daughter, Patricia Jean “Pat” Hadden.

Surviving are his sons, Coleman Hadden of Eatonton and Larry M. Hadden (Dianne) of Metter; his daughters, Mary Louise Hadden Spradley (Kenny) of Cochran, Debra Joy Hadden (Annette Unden) of Hull, and Jennifer Hadden Tanner (Don) of Louisville; his grandchildren, Shane M. Hadden, Amanda Hadden Holmes, Ryan A. Hadden, Robyn Green Tippins, Talette Tompkins Tootle, Charity Flynt Lowe, Mitchell R. Bond, Mitzi Bond Helms, Jericho Williams, and Kyle Spradley, twenty-two great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held from 6 until 8 o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Cedar Street Baptist Church in Metter.

The funeral service will be held 11 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Cedar Street Baptist Church with Rev. Bo Fulginiti officiating.

Pallbearers will be Shane M. Hadden, Lucas M. Hadden, Ryan A. Hadden, R.

Reese Hadden, Ryan Holmes, and Don Tanner.

Interment will be in Lake Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN  38105.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
