George F. Scott, 66, of Pulaski/Metter and husband of Jolene Cowart Scott, passed away early Saturday morning, October 24, 2020 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro surrounded by his family.
Born in Savannah, he was a son of Neil B. Scott and Kathryn Delores Scott. He was an engineer, having worked for Royal Mechanical of South Carolina, Incorporated in Hardeeville, South Carolina. George attended Georgia Tech in Atlanta studying both Nuclear and Mechanical Engineering and later received his Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry From Armstrong College in Savannah. On October 20, 1984 he married Jolene Cowart and recently, they celebrated their thirty-six year anniversary. He enjoyed playing golf, he loved his dogs, Daisy and Buck, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Maria Scott and brother, James Lawrence Scott.
Surviving are his wife, Jolene Cowart Scott of Pulaski; his daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Ronny Cannon of Richmond Hill; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Sharon Scott of Hiram, and Gregory and Angie Scott of Savannah; his sisters and a brothers-in-law, Claudia Scott of Savannah, Donna Scott of Savannah and Kathryn and Steve Morrison of Charlotte, NC, Paula and Allen Malaise of Waterloo, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 26, 2020 from 5 until 7 o’clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter with the Rosary Service beginning at 7 o’clock in the evening.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Holy Family Catholic Church in Metter.
Interment will be in Lake Cemetery.
