Obituary
Joey A. Carter, 61, of Metter, passed away on March 12, 2023.
Joey was born in Candler County and lived in Metter all of his life. He was a retired carpenter and was a Christian of the Baptist faith. Joey loved fishing and NASCAR and was a fan of NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. He was a very loved friend to all and would do anything for anybody. Joey was preceded in death by his father, Roger Carter and a nephew, Trent Sikes.
Surviving are his mother, Norma Jean Dukes of Collins; his sister Cindy Sikes (Johnny) of Claxton; a half-brother, Paul Carter of Metter; a niece, Lindsay Sikes Brown of Claxton; a great niece, Evie Daley; a great nephew, Wilkes Daley; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday , March 18, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. before the service.
