John "Blake" Mayfield Obituary

John "Blake" Mayfield, 65, of Metter, died Saturday afternoon, August 13, 2022, from a short illness.

Blake was best known around Metter riding his golf cart and wearing his beloved hats. You might even remember his handlebar mustache that he sported for a long time. He made many friends on those rides around town. Blake was a glassman by trade, having owned his own business before moving to Metter several years ago. He enjoyed boating and fishing best. Blake was an amazing cook and loved cooking for his friends and never turned down an invitation to a seafood buffet.

Surviving are numerous family members and friends.

A private service will be held at a later date.
