Jonas Patrick "Jo Jo" Rivenbark Obituary

Jonas Patrick “Jo Jo” Rivenbark, 39, of Metter, died on Thursday, August 4, 2022.

He was born on September 8, 1982 and lived in Metter all of his life.  Jo Jo was a 2001 graduate of Metter High School and was a member of Metter United Methodist Church.  He was a mason and member of Metter Lodge #435 F&AM and was a member of the Claxton Shrine Club where he was the president.   Jo Jo, was the founder of the Claxton Shrine Club In-Shore Poker Run that began as a seven-boat event and grew to a ninety-nine-boat event and over the years he raised over two-hundred thousand dollars for the Shriner Children’s Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina.  He worked for Pineland Telephone for many years before going to work with C and R Industrial Services in the Agricultural Irrigation Industry.  Jo Jo was a hard worker and loving family man. Jo Jo has been a devoted loving husband and father.  He loved to work but loved his “baby” and children more than anything.  He was up with the chickens and passed that down to his Ella Bug.  He also passed his love of offshore fishing and the coast to Cal Patrick.  If you ever had the pleasure of meeting him, you would remember his big smile and booming voice. He and Brooke shared a love story spanning twenty years.  He and his side kick Gator would work side by side every day. To say he will be missed is an understatement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He loved to fish, loved going to concerts, especially Reba McEntire, and loved the Shriners.  He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Wayne Leverett and his maternal grandparents, Eleanor and Cal Rivenbark and paternal grandfather, Kent Campbell.

Surviving are his wife, Brooke Leverett Rivenbark; his daughter, Ella Rivenbark; his son, Cal Patrick Rivenbark; father, Lavon Campbell (Kristy); mother, Mary Ann Scott and her husband, Bill; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela Campbell Monroe and Jason Monroe; his brother, Hunter Campbell; paternal grandmother, Margaret Campbell; his biological father, Dale Norman; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Martha Sue and  Tim Boyette; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Claire and Ashley Aldrich; brother, Dalton Leverett; three nieces, Arleigh Grace Monroe, Cheslee Monroe, and Natalie Aldrich; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 4 until 6 o’clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.
