Lena Stoltzfus Carpenter

Lena Stoltzfus Carpenter, 92, of Metter, GA, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2021, at her home, surrounded by family.  Born on October 13, 1928 in Berks County, PA, she was the daughter of Christian J. and Elsie B. (Stoltzfus) Kurtz.  She was preceded in death by her husband Sidney M. Carpenter, a son Mark Carpenter, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons; brothers Elam Kurtz and Chester Kurtz.

She is survived by her 4 sons Harold (Sharoldine) Burr Oak, MI; Fred (Audrey) Burns Lake, BC; Daniel (Deborah Lynn) Molino, FL; Andrew (Esther Mae) Swainsboro, GA; 4 daughters Barbara, wife of James Daniels; Susan wife of Timothy Peifer; Lois, wife of David Martin, all of Metter, GA; Rhoda, wife of Stanley Bauman, Guiscoyol, Guatemala; a daughter in law Karen Carpenter, Metter, GA, 57 grandchildren, 159 great grandchildren. 2 great-great grandchildren; 3 brothers, John Kurtz, Snow Hill, MD; Paul (Lydia) Kurtz , Ephrata, PA and Calvin (Esther Mae) Kurtz, Elverson, PA,  a sister Caroline Plank, Bremen, OH, and a sister-in-law Orpah Kurtz, West Jefferson, NC. 

A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 16 at Metter Mennonite Church.

Funeral services are planned for Friday, September 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Metter Mennonite Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Metter Mennonite Church.
